Library Uses IPODs As Incentives

The Municipality of Anchorage Library System recently used ad specialty items to save money. Here’s how they did it: each branch had an IPOD Shuffle to give away. To qualify for the drawing, patrons were required to register their email addresses so they could receive electronic communications instead of snail mail, which saved the Libraries about $1000 per month. Motivated patrons acted within a desired time frame, before the next few mailings were due out, demonstrating the power of promotional products as incentives. This is truly a good example of an intelligent, targeted promotional program.
